Howdy Folks
Recently I got a big stack of stuff from Bee Records in the mail from Jason Chronis, and as I was putting together the show this week I saw that I had just enough to make a whole episode, so here it is. I read about the label and did a bit of research but I really have to thank Elton “Bee” Cormier for writing a lot of the labels history and his own personal views about Cajun music on the back of his LPs. It saves me a ton of time sorting through newspaper articles when a label provides it’s own history to be read.
What I ended up learning is that Bee was a training ground for young people to play and get experience with Cajun music. The music is great and the story is great, I think this is a very solid episode.
Cheers
Franklin
